Kahoot!, like Plickers, is a quick and easy way to assess student knowledge.  You can quickly create questions and then quiz students using a tablet or smartphone.  Student responses are also easily collected and can be exported to Google Drive or to an Excel document.  Students enjoy the ability to compete in a fun and risk free environment.  It is also easy for students to create their own short assessments.

Infographics

Infographics provide a wonderful opportunity for students to analyze, write and express an idea using graphics, statistics, primary sources and text.  There are a variety of infographic makers out there.  Our favorites include Piktochart, Infogram and Easelly.  Students can also use infographics as a research tool as seen by an example from the History.com site on the 150th Anniversary of the Civil War.

Video Lessons

In our history classes we need to teach a lot of information in a short amount of time that is meaninful for our students.  One effective way to accomplish this is to show a video.  These two websites take the boring out of videos that can sometimes be a bit dry.  Educannon and Edpuzzle are fantastic websites that let you download videos of your choosing or use videos already in their data base.  Once your video is chosen you can add as many questions as you like during certain times during the video.  There are a ton of question types.  And it collects all of the data for you.

Discovery Education Board Builder

The Discovery Education board builder is like a digital poster.  It allows students to create a staging place for their knowledge.  The best part about it is that it not only allows them to use media from Discovery but from any other source they choose.

Plickers

If you are looking for a quick and easy way to assess your students this is the website for you.  This alows you to make assessment questions easily.  And your students responses are easly recorded for you in a spread sheet.  The best thing about it is the students don't need a personal device!!

Two great online presentation tools are Emaze and Visme.  Both of these offer students and teachers opportunities to create web-based presentations that are interesting and creative.  There are a variety of options of the kind of presentation to create including infographics, slideshows, and museum tours.
