Today’s history class should be more than just a teacher providing students with historical facts in preparation for a standardized test.  It is our responsibility to prepare students for a future where they are the leaders, thinkers, creators and problem solvers.  The ability to think historically through analysis, discussion, writing and technology are traits that all students should leave with upon graduation.  In this presentation, we will showcase examples of students engaged in meaningful conversation about primary sources and thought-provoking questions.  Teachers will view examples of students using a variety of resources to research, plan, and develop presentations that answer essential questions to solve historical problems in real-world settings.  Examples include Google Drive, Google Apps for Education as well as technology applications like Thinglink, Tellegami, Educreations, EMaze, website generators like Weebly and Wix and many others.  Our goal is for teachers to leave with examples of how to incorporate creativity, collaboration, and technology in a secondary history classroom.
